Activities and Highlights
- Upon arrival, the children will be seated on the porch to partake in an educational learning time about growing fruit and the pollination process. A demonstration, using visual aids, will show how an apple tree grows, blooms and is pollinated by bees. After the demonstration, the children will go out into the orchard and learn hands on about the different varieties of fruit, the picking process, and each child will pick an apple and place in the tour guide's picking bag.
- Upon completion of the orchard tour, the children will come back to the apple barn and learn how the apples are cleaned and sorted with our machines.
- The children will then be separated into groups, and tour our country store where different varieties of fruit will be on display. During this part, the children will be allowed to go out onto the porch and sample fruit that is in season.
- After completion of the tour, the children will be able to fill their own bag of fresh, crunchy apples from baskets of pre-picked apples. Each bag will be approx. 1 ½ lbs. ( 4-5 apples).
Teacher will receive a free bag of apples (ONE FREE offer, per class).
There is no charge for instructional aids or teachers on any tour.
